Configurations Task Force (Disbanded)

The Task Force will do studies on configurations for the SKA, with the aim of obtaining two configurations that are optimal for Southern Africa and Australia.

“Optimal” means here that the configuration best matches the Reference Science Mission, taking constraints for effectively locating antennas and stations in the available terrain into account. These constraining factors are of geological, geophysical and RFI/EMI nature, but also cost of infrastructure is taken into account when configuration optimisations are done.
