Discover the North West
The SKA HQ is located only 40min south of Manchester. The UK’s second largest city is a thriving and ethnically diverse place. A cocktail of world-renowned educational institutions and multinational businesses are based in Manchester, making it a popular place for internationals.
Manchester’s working world is predominantly made up of business professionals, seasoned academics and researchers. Nearby Trafford has a large media complex where creative professionals work for top media institutions such as the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the Independent Television Network (ITV) and many others.
Much of Manchester’s charisma is based around its musical and sporting history. Home to iconic football teams, sports stars and musicians, you will soon learn that Mancunians are passionate about their sports and music, and the city hosts festivals and sporting events throughout the year. The city’s eclectic selection of restaurants and vibrant nightlife are also a draw card.
This mix of sport, music and ongoing events makes for a great entertainment and many internationals who move to Manchester stay for longer than initially intended. This is reflected in the large Chinese, Indian and Polish communities which have been established in the city.
From a housing perspective, property is considerably cheaper in Manchester than London and the range of available properties will meet most requirements.
You will be covered under the UK’s respected NHS healthcare system, and the city has a number of reputable hospitals including the Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

The SKA HQ is located in the heart of Cheshire. Cheshire is an area bursting with things to see and do including attractions, gardens, stately homes and spa hotels. This rural region of England is home to small market towns and villages with their independent galleries, boutiques and farmers’ markets selling local produce. There is of course no shortage of restaurants, country pubs or tea rooms.

The Peak District
The SKA HQ sits only 20min from the western edge of the Peak District, a beautiful natural region at the heart of England featuring moors and dales, rivers, springs and caverns and at its heart the Peak District National Park, renowned for its breath-taking views, relaxation, inspiration and adventure. The region spans areas of Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Yorkshire.
